V, ilk olarak okul zamanlarında enstrüman olarak saksafon öğrenmeye başladı. Hatta katıldığı bir yarışmada altın madalya kazandı.

Taehyung‘un müziğe olan aşkı sadece şarkıcı olmakla kalmadı. Aktif bir söz yazarı, besteci ve prodüktör olması onu yeni müzik aletleri keşfetmek ve öğrenmek için çok çalışmaktan alıkoymadı.

Taehyung, yetenekli bir piyanist olduğunu “In the SOOP”un birinci sezonu için yapmış olduğu OST’sinin melodisini aniden yaparak ne kadar yetenekli olduğunu  göstererek hayranlarını etkiledi.
